how to open CW Shredder

I have saved CW Shredder from Major Geeks onto my desk top as per this web site.

When i try to open it to run it, I get a question on my computer asking me to select a program to use to open it. The computer gives me a list of options, like Word, Explorer, Abode, etc......

What do I select to open this?

I have ran inot this kind of thing before with other things I wanted to open, but after trying the options, I have never ever been able to figure what thing to use to open a program when i get this kind of request, so I just forget it, but this time I need the CW Shredder (I believe) to solve a home page problem.

1. For the CW Shredder, what do i use?

2. For furture issues, How can one determine what to use, that is how do the experts know, without guess work?

3. Can someone explain what is happening when this question is asked?, and why only some programs have this asked, and others do not?

I am still new to these computers, so any education on the why of these things might help me better understand what is gong on.

Answer to question #1 is the most urgent for me, as I think I need to run this program, as I am getting ads, and this strange home page keeps coming up, often when i type in a google search. The other two questions are for my enlightenment.

CWShreader is zipped, in other words, compressed. You need something like winrar or winzip to open them. I think they have 30 day trials.
