I have a new Fujitsu Siemens laptop, with win xp installed, and someone (i don't know), had put it's fingers on it and introduced a password. Now, when i'm opening the computer, i'm prompted for it(that xp password). What can i do in order to pass it? (also i should say that i don't have the installation cds). thanks, anyway.

Boot into Safe Mode and see if you can log in via the Administrator account.

Thats as much support as MS will give you in trying to get into a locked down system.

Yes, if the person has just checked the option to show the log on screen it will show the place for the password, just try pressing enter and then go to Control Panel-->User accounts and turn off having the log in window be displayed.

Worst comes to worst I would call up the place that you bought the computer and ask them to send you a new HD with Windows XP installed.

In XP, when the account has no password, when you click on it on the Welcome screen, no password field appears at all-- you just click on the icon and you're in.
