How to read Port Peeker

I have downloaded port peeker and it is working, the only problem is I can't
understand the characters. Could someone please point me in the right direction of a source of information on the characters that appear in port peeker. Thanks,

 

Sounds like you're trying to look at binary data packets. You CAN convert these to ASCII but it won't help much...

There will be a LOT of packets going through this thing. The packets with nonsense in them will be a program transfering a file of some kind. Most programs use this method of sending packets for security. Very few now use plain ASCII packets for transferring data. Chat clients do (usually).
