How to recover a file after Reformatting

Hi,
I had a bad install on a program I recentley downloaded and had no choice but to reformat my hard drive. It didn't give me the opportunity to backup any of my old files so I lost everything, including some important Microsoft Money files.Does anyone have any free alternatives as how to recover these files? I tried a few of your shareware programs on here but you have to pay to recover anything.

Your odds of recovering anything with a free program is basicly zero. The free ones on here are the best you'll find, but even if you paid a professional to attempt a recovery it's doubtful you'd get anything back.

See your problem isn't that you formatted, it's that after you formatted you also reinstalled, which means you wrote over the old files. If those free programs arn't seeing them it's unlikely you'll ever see them again unless you pay some big bucks (at least a few hundred) and even then they might not be possible to recover.

If the free programs are seeing the files and just demanding money to recover them try a diffrent one. Most of the recovery programs on this site will recover for free.

So I tried a shareware program on her called get data back for NTFS and it recovered the files I lost with no problems,thanx for the help.
