How To Regain Lost 'storage Folders' In Gmail ?

My email account is GMail. I used to have Windows Essentials 2012 for my email client - when that no longer worked, I changed to EmClient. The latter kept all the folders I had created in Essentials over the years; to my surprise I found those same folders in Gmail; recently some unknown event caused EmClient to stop displaying the numerous 'storage folders', and so did Gmail; I thought I had lost them, but after some time (a day ?) the storage folders re-appeared in EmClient, however, they are still missing from Gmail. I wonder if there is a way of restoring them to Gmail ?

Try setting up your Gmail account in a different client, Thunderbird for example.

Unless you mean 'for a short while', that is NOT acceptable. I have tried Thunderbird and found it inferior to EmClient.

No need to shout. Gmail does not lose folders so one has to suspect the client to be the cause. Entirely up to you whether you want to try it or not, but I certainly would.

Use the gmail web interface to fix what you don't see.
    1. Click the gear (settings) near top right.
    2. Next click See all settings.
    3. Last click on labels. Make sure you have Show rather than Hide.
The top part shows the system labels. Scroll down to see your folders, which is called Labels.

The ones that are missing have for some reason been marked as Hide, Change to Show and they'll appear.

Plodr, I was not notified of your reply, so only saw it just now. The only HIDE/SHOW I could find in the place you suggested was for " 'Send & Archive' button in Reply"; but there was a 'Manage Labels' gear. When I clicked on it, only 'system' labels showed, NOT the ones that had disappeared.

If there are no labels below the system labels and categories then it looks like they have been removed and you will have to re-create them.

If you didn't create them in gmail, then they are not going to magically appear.
