how to remove norton (partially dl'ed files)

    A friend decided to DL and and buy Norton (fine :rolleyes:)
    But on start-up his computer is acting much slower now and a window pops-up saying to uninstall it and reinstall it.
    I searched "how to remove norton antivirus" and got this link

    It says it's for 2003 or earlier versions, could it apply to newer versions?
    I also did a search here, but no luck, thanks.
