How to remove old search items in text box?

Hey... I'm really annoyed when all my old search items appear when I type the first letter of my new search item... What will I do to remove this drop items?

For? What application?

You may be able to run CCleaner to remove these.

If the Most Recently Used list in things like the run-line and explorer Windows are what you are refering to, you might find the answer at: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322948/EN-US/

I mean my old search items are still re-appearing when I type in search text box like Google...

If your using IE as your browser then follow the following

1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options" and the "Content" tab.
3. Within the "Personal information" area, select "AutoComplete."
4. Click on "Clear Forms." You can also un-check the "Forms" box in this window to keep this information from being stored in the future.
5. Click "OK" to exit.

but best and good option is CCleaner that theefool mentioned above for clearing out all the old MRU and brower files.

I completely agree with halo use ccleaner it's a great and free utilitie, I use it all the time.

Yeah. I'm using CCleaner but it won't remove. Anyways... Here is a more proper question... How can I remove cookies?

Did you do this to stop the autocomplete from adding previous searches in the search boxes eg. Google etc?

1. Go to the "Tools" menu.
2. Select "Internet Options" and the "Content" tab.
3. Within the "Personal information" area, select "AutoComplete."
4. Click on "Clear Forms." You can also un-check the "Forms" box in this window to keep this information from being stored in the future.
5. Click "OK" to exit.

Which Browser you using? and which Operating System?

if IE then CCleaner will remove them or you can do it this way also, in IE click Tools > Interent Options > Delete Cookies

To remove the previous search items from Yahoo or maybe other search engines, click on the blank search window, a drop-down window will appear below it, move your cursor to the item you want to remove, which becomes hi-lited and hit "Delete" on your keyboard.

This works in IE, I don't know about other browsers.

for the seach items its the same way as PuppyWunder58 said except when deleting press Shift+Delete at the same time

for cookies click on Tools/Options/Privacy tab/Cookies/Clear cookies now

Ctrl+Shift+Del will clear all private info (cookies, history, autocomplete data) or under the privacy tab in options, uncheck 'Save information I enter in forms and the search bar' and get rid of the problem at the source.
