    HI,

Can anyone tell me how to remove SD Resident? I can't stand it. Is this the same as teatimer? There's no add/remove option, and it doesn't come off when you remove Search and Destroy... I suspect one must do it at the registry level, or something like that....

    Thanks for any advice :)

    Hi MarkTrent,

Actually, I never ended up having to reformat the hard drive. I was able to get around the stop error by using the "last used"(or whatever) option on the safe mode start up screen... (of which I keep turned "off" anyway).

As soon as I got in, I went to add/remove, and took off Roxio, and a few other suspected programs, and went through the Major Geeks malware cleaning process and found a few things. Everything is all clean and working well so far...

As far as this "tea timer" goes. (Before my initial problem) I had updated Spybot SD before even seeing that the Resident/Teatimer is best left unchecked...

I uninstalled Spybot, but the Resident is still on the computer and has no removal options.
I'll probably have to reinstall Spybot, and then do the steps you mentioned.

Either way, I'm just glad I got my computer up and running. Thanks for the help!

The question is how to remove the resident after the program is deleted not how to prevent the problem in the first place. I would like to know as well. I find Spybot to be problematic if it has parts insistent on hanging around the computer!

Am also having trouble getting rid of any trace of spybot. I've uninstalled it but still have SD Resident somewhere.
    Would appreciate any help.

rmiller7 and yabbadabbado please each of you start your own new thread. That would be two threads. One started by rmiller7 and a different thread started by yabbadabbado asking for help with your problem.
In this forum, you do not dredge up an old thread unless you have a solution to the original problem. You also do not attach your problem to a thread someone else has started about a problem. Even if you have the same problem, you start your own personal thread if you can't find a solution to the problem.
