How to replace fan on older GF-7300 GS card??

hey guys this is something I've never done before. this card has been great - better than it should have been for the specs etc, but the fan failed causing overheat shutdown. Looking at it, it isn't obvious to me how to replace it. See the picture - the fan is embedded in the heatsink, the heatsink is anchored by two plastic pushpins, but how to release those? I tried pinching them from the backside but it ain't happening. and I not sure how the fan itself is affixed to the aluminum base of heatsink.

can anyone give me instruction, and where to buy the fan - I assume ebay....

You are probably going to need a pair of pliers to squeeze the plastic prongs together as you pull on the tab. You will also have to clean the thermal compound off the GPU and replace with new. Not sure how the fan is attached. This card is not a brand name is it?

 

Be sure whatever replacement fan you buy has the exact mounting pin arrangement as the old one. I've run into a few "one size fits most" fans that would not fit a given brand of video card even though the package stated it would fit a given series (example 7300GS).

If you want to keep life simple, I'd consider replacing the entire video card for about $30:
