I am brand new to the linux environment and trying to learn. I downloaded a program (game). It is a .bin extension. I want to run it, so I did the following:

Went to the folder the file is in and typed
chmod +x filename.bin (this seemed to work fine)

    Then
    ./file.bin

at this point the system generates a response of:

Verifying archive integrity...tail: cannot open '+266' file for reading no such file or directory. Error in Checksums 411226 is different from 609708321

Anybody have any idea what I am doing wrong? I realize this is probably so basic to most of you, but I'm learning... Thanks in advance!

    Try this command
    Code:
    sudo chmod +X filename.bin
    Then
    Code:
     sudo ./filename.bin
    What does the file do?
