How To Set FireFox As Default Browser?

    I'd like to make it so that when i click on links sent to me via IRC or instant messenger, it opens them with FireFox and not Internet Explorer (incase they contain spyware/viruses)... I already went to FireFox, Options, and checked off, Default Browser... But when i clicked on a news link in IRC it opened up with IE... Perhaps it's because i'm didn't restart my computer?

    Go into your IE Internnet options and under the programs tab uncheck "Internet Explorer should check to see if it is the default browser". Also, try selecting it in the Set Program Access and Defaults section of your Start menu.

    click on tools
    then options
    then general
    then on the box that says

    default browser

    0.9.x has had a lot of difficulty correctly setting itself as the default browser. Known issue, at least partially fixed in nightly builds. It's still beta software. Expect bugs. You want no bugs? Go to Mozilla 1.7.
