How to start services in safe mode

I am trying to start services in safe mode. I have an internet connection that requires me to sign into a program before I can get online and I want to start that program in safe mode but it will not start without its services. When I try to start the service it says it will not run in safe mode. I know that the registry key for safe mode is hklm\system\currnetcontrolset\control\safeboot\network
Is there keys I can add to get the service to start?

 

You could try adding the service you want to the end of the key Eg:

hklm\system\currnetcontrolset\control\safeboot\??????

By naming the service you want to start in safe mode this way it might start. Mind you, safe mode is a diagnostic setting so Windows thinks something is wrong and therefore only starts services it thinks you will need so this might not work.

Have you tried Safe mode with networking instead of just safe mode?

 

I figured out how to do it. If you open the services panel by clicking on start then run and type in services.msc. Then click on the service and find the real name of it. go to the registry entry and add a new key. the new key is the service name. then the value is service. I imagine that drivers could be done the same way but I am not sure where to get the driver name.

 

Go to your Device Manager and open the device you are trying to find the driver for.

High light the device, right click it and go to

Properties > Driver > Driver Details

and you will get the full path of the driver and the name.
