How To Stop Scan-disk ?!

i want to know that how to stop scan disk, the thing which scan ur drives b4 windowz start, here in my pc, with every reboot that scan disk start scanning. thats fking annoying, please guide me how to remove/stop it.

What operating system do you have 98 98SE 2000 xp ect...???

 

Start>Run>msconfig Look in the startup entries for ScanDisk, uncheck it & reboot the computer.

 

i dont think that there is some scandisk startup entry ... i am using WINDOWS XP.

any specific name for that startup scan disk entry?

 

MSconfig doesn't list ScanDisk in XP.

There are programs and scripts you can download, or you can manually edit the Registry if you are comfortable doing so.

Typically when new hard drives, or USB "pen" drives are installed, this will happen.

To check to see if there is a check, you can simply browse to the following registry key:

HKEYLOCALMACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\BootExecute

This key, SHOULD contain only: "autocheck autochk *"

Notice the space after the *. If it has anything else, you can simply remove it. This entry must/should be in there.

Typical entries that are located within this, is chkdsk, avast scan, and a few other items.

 

click Start...>Run and type cmd.. then Enter... now type chkntfs /d
Enter and restart. If disk check appears now then DO NOT SKIP. ok.. you are done!!!!.
