How to tell what network card I have

I have an HP Pavilion running Windows XP. I've been having trouble connecting to the internet for a long time now, but there were other problems as well, so I thought it was a virus. I erased and reformatted the hard drive twice but the intermittent internet persists. I got a Netgear USB Wireless adapter, but it has the same problem; I'm fine for a little while, but then it drops me off the internet. I use Internet Explorer's built in troubleshooter to re-establish the connection and I'm fine for awhile, but I eventually get dropped out again. IT where I work re-downloaded all my drivers and re-installed them, but it didn't help.
They think that since the problem exists both with the router the PC is physically wired to as well as the wireless adapter, that suggests that the problem may be that I might need a new network card in my PC.
So how do I tell what network card is in my PC? Will the Belarc Advisor software tell me? I thought HP's website had a feature that would scan my system and tell me what I need, but if it's there, I can't find it.

If you download Belarc adviser it will list everything you want to know about your comp.

cmd prompt should give you that. click <start>, <run>, and type CMD

once in the command prompt run the following commands....

cd c:\

systeminfo


the report should give you some hardware details.
