How to transfer Yahoo IM archive to new computer

I have been able to find and copy the file which contains my Yahoo IM archive, but I have been unable to locate where to place it on my new laptop which has Vista. I found some instructions but still couldn't locate the place. It would be best to have it in the regular archive location. Since I have it now as a file, I could potentially access it, but everything I have tried to open it with has failed - and having it as a file would be nowhere near as convenient. Does anyone know?

 

I appreciate the information you provided. Thanks. I have tried it without success. I presume that the capitalization of some letters is significant. I feel sure I did it correctly (after a few tries), but I can't get it to be recognized. I don't understand the part about "Two bold bits .." I did insert user name of the new computer with Vista and the one for Yahoo IM. You put an exclamation point after Yahoo, so I did too.
