How to turn off your wep key

What router/modem do you have? as what you will need to do is to access the routers menus and that is where you turn off WEP.

Check this list and see which one you have http://www.netopia.com/support/hardware/ and if you look at that label on the router just in the bottom right corner above where it says support contact will be a boc with a number, whats that number

The full list of help is here for that model router, but the one you will need is this one here to allow you to gain access to the routers menus (if you have ever changed the password from default then you will need to remember it)

Section title to read is the one called Configuration for 7.2 Residential Firmware for WEP Encryption and copy this IP address 192.168.1.254 and with a open browser window paste this into the address bar and hit enter or go and this should load a user and password window up.




*just want to make a note that running without at least WEP you can leave your internet connection open for anyone to use which can be a security risk*
