How do I uninstall this problematic piece of crap without uninstalling quick time itself (I have version 7.6.2) as a few of my older games need it and don't work with the versions of quick time they came with.

Just disable it from tools > add-ons > Plugins to test if that is the problem first. If an add-in or plugin is disabled, it doesn't get loaded.

Never mind I didn't realize that Quick Time creates a second copy of npqt files in the firefox plug in directory I thought what Firefox was reporting came from the Quick Time\Plugin directory. It didn't I uninstalled the plug in from Fire fox's plug in directory and not a problem since.
