how to unlock a processor

    I have a old pc with a Pentium 3 1.13GHZ processor, how can i unlock its multiplier?

    That is usually done in the bios(usually esc or ?? at start) Are you attempting to overclock or ?? . If I understand your question...

    I believe on old processors you had to bridge L1/L2 bridges to unlock certain mutlipliers, and of course the bios had to support higher speeds / clock changes.

    its in a laptop, BIOS ? what should i look for, i had a system analyzer and it marked my multiplier " LOCKED "

    Its the L1 bridges on Socket A CPUs (AMD). I dont think thare is a way to unlock intel chips.. thow i might be wrong... As far as overclocking a laptop goes it very difficult ( if posable at all ). I advise you to just forget about the idea.....it whould take you completly disassembling your laptop to look for X setings or FSB settings ....and you have overheating problems. Thares so many things that can go wrong.....
