I can connect to a couple of neighborhood unsecured networks but the connection is weak and intermittant. How can I establish a consistant and quicker connection to these networks? What hardware would help (antennas, signal boosters, etc.).

A legit isp would be a good start, stealing is bad bad bad.:)

LOL, witt permission, it wont matter much. I have used boosters, etc, and feel they are a scam. IMHO, you *might* have some success with a repeater located close to their signal, research repeaters some :)

A mate of mine shares his cable service with 2 of his neighbours and their kids online game using the connection his gives them. He made an arial with coaxial cable and a short piece of downpipe. He just ran it out to the eaves of his house, as long as they use his ISP's game servers( so the data isn't counted) and don't leech like mo-fo's he's happy.
Winners all round. (Except for the ISP of course) I might point out that he is a networking whiz.
    Google is your friend.
