How to write a script?

    how do i Write a script which will output (to stdout) a fragment of HTML which will be a row of a table and display a thumbnail of the specified image along with the supplied caption. Both the thumbnail and description is link to the supplied page. tocentry <filename.jpeg> <caption> <destination_url>

    hmmm not enough information, Where is the html coming from? a database or is it a static string that wont change? I take it this is for a webpage?
