how to write DES in java/c++?

I want to write codes to encrypt "a plaintext" using DES

could you introduce some resources about how to write in java or C++?
where I can learn about?

If you're doing this for an assignment, then a quick google search brought up a very detailed paper from csrc.nist.gov about FIPS 46-3 encryption.

If creating the encryption is not part of the assignment, then Java has an encryption library included in Java SE 6. If you need one for C++, again a quick google search will get you what you need:
