    I tried it here:
    http://www.doityourself.com/forum/c...erals/559452-whats-wrong-ethernet-ports.html?

And I think I am not getting quite far.
How do I connect internet from Comcast modem to that particular hub? Two yellow cables coming from the bottom into the hub are from the modem.
Right now, none of the wall Ethernet outlets have internet in them. I have at least one Ethernet cable that does though.
Previously, house had everything functioning well. Cables are connected by Comcast installer.
    Thank you.

What is the make and model of that Comcast modem?
The modem alone will only let one device have internet access. If its a modem/router combination, just plug one network wire from the hub (I hope its a switch, not a hub) into the Comcast router.

My bad. It's Comcast Gateway. Has 4 ports out. Two yellow cables from gateway already connected to it. I am pretty positive it's a 628 hub. Not a switch.

There should only be one cable from the gateway to the hub. Two will confuse it badly.

Huh... So I can take a cable from gateway and plug it into a ethrnet port in the hub upper row - and ALL of the out cables should have internet in them?
Also, what are those two Ethernet jacks that go back into single blue cable? It says "offices" on the cable. Ones that are plugged into both hub sections.
You are saying it's actually a switch? Like a Netgear switch?

Yes, one cable from the gateway to the "hub" will make anything plugged into the hub have access; though, you probably ought to reboot any PC's that are on.
If there are two "hubs" there should also be one cable that runs between them or one each from the router to the "hubs"; but, I can't possibly know what your seeing.
Without a make and model, we don't know what those "hubs" are.

    Ok, let's fix this.
    That's the entire network panel.
Upper hubs are security and phones. Don't care.
2 yellow cables plugged into upper ethernet ports come from gateway. Blue cables go out of the hub and into various rooms. So far, I found only ONE live cable on the first floor - panel is on the 2nd floor. Otherwise, none of the wall mount ethernet ports has internet.
Yellow cables were inserted that way by Comcast guy. He really didn't even try to pretend he's a network guy.
ORIGINALLY two highlighted ethernet plugs, that go into the same blue cable and say "offices" on it, were plugged where the yellow cables are now.
I have a wild idea. Maybe those spliced cables are actually IN feed for both hubs? And gateway simply needs to be connected to one of the two office rooms ethernet ports to feed the hub?
