Having some issues with my HP laptop.

Out of nowhere it's started having problems booting up.

When the power button is pressed, the caps lock light comes off and on every few seconds, the DVD rom sounds like its constantly trying to read something and the processor light which is usually blue is flickering amber.

The screen doesn't come on at all and I'm a bit lost as of what to do.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hey, thanks for the reply.

I cannot get to Bios, the screen never lights up.
im just getting the sound from the dvd drive, which sounds like its constantly trying to read something about once a second. The caps lock light and the amber processor light

It appears that your video chip went. Unfortunately, in a laptop, that is almost always unfixable. (there are a few models that do allow you to replace the video card).
Your best shot now is to remove the hard drive, attach it via a USB port to a working computer and grab all your files.
