HP C5280 will not print

I have this printer in my system, with OP XP Pro.
It is showing as my default printer, and until today has worked well.
When I use print (selected from File) I get a message that there is a problem with the printer setup.
Help had some suggestions, but they were not help. The printer is shown in my hardware, it is listed in the control panel, and it is shown as my default printer. I am not sure the original setup disc is still around.
Anyone with some suggestions?

The OP is Win XP Pro
The page to be printed is on MS Office Word 2003, and I am using Word to try and get the page to print out.
I am trying to print by going to File then selecting Print.
A window comes us to select the parameters for printing, which I set.
It is then I get the error message about a problem with the printer.
I hope that clarifies the problem and situation.

Not sure what caused the problem, but the settings for the printer were out of whack
Restored printer settings to default and all seems to be OK. Printer is printing.
