HP CLJ 3500 Formatter board blinking light

I have an HP Color Laserjet 3500 printer that has a blinking light on the formatter board. The printer was connected through a netgear ps121v2 print server when it started acting up. It would print sporadically maybe after hitting print twice. I has finally quit printing all together. I tried connecting the printer directly to my laptop with the USB cable but it still won't print. Does anyone know what the flashing green light means? I can't find any trouble shooting help on it.
