HP Complete System Restore

I'm not exactly a computer type of guy, I was never able to really use my computer other than for the internet. Three days ago my computer was in BIG trouble. I had a spyware or some virus that froze all my anti viruses when I started them up. It would also freeze my computer in 2 minutes after logging into my user. I tried to solve this by doing the system restore through the system administrator safe mode, however the last step in system restore the 'next' button was not responding.

So I decided to find out what the keys F1, F4(?), and F10 does on my computer during start up. I pressed f10 and it deleted most of my files including my korean XP i had installed quite a years back. That's fine because I could always reinstall it but the real trouble is my computer seems to be very outdated after my foolish actions. I tried going on Microsoft to find out what downloads that I might need and the site does not open all the time. When it does I would click the button above custom updates iexplore freezes. Is there any other way for me to find out what updates I need and manually update them?

 

Wow try installing Mozilla Firefox if you want to check for updates. But first things first... I would go to www.trendmicro.com and scan your pc with their free online virus/malware/spyware scanner called "housecall". Let that scan your pc and if it finds anything remove it promptly. Than try going on windows update again in internet explorer. But remember this one thing for future reference virus' can be backed up in system restore points so if your system is infected and you try to restore it back with system restore you may indeed be reinfecting it or creating an even more worse problem.
