HP Deskjet G85???

:cryPRINTER WAS NOT PRINTING, WENT THROUGH THE TROUBLESHOOTING, LAST RESORT, REMOVE AND RE-INSTALL SOFTWARE.

I did a complete removal (control panel add/remove) of the software for the g85. Edited registry, found no traces of HP, G85, Hewlett Packard, or other related searched NONE FOUND.

I then attempted to re-install the software and I get message :cry"THE INSTALLER HAS DETECTED YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED THE INSTALLATION OF THIS SOFTWARE":cry INSTALLATION ABORTS

First I would ask if you rebooted the computer after you did the uninstall. If so you can download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility and see if HP is listed. Delete only references to HP.

You may have services still running as noted in the article. I would pay special attention to that.

 

Can you go to control panel to see in printers on how many printers are listed of the same program?

Something I ran into on a friends computers printer prob. When the program is insalled, some ppl just clicko. Yes, yes. on installing it. Some programs default to a serial port install and he had the program installed many times listed in the printer programs.

What he didn't do on installing it was to use the drop down box to chose it was installed by a USB port instead.

I deleted all the installed programs and did just one and chose the USB type of connection. Hope this helped.

If you are not able to make HP DeskJet printer online, then you need to clear the print jobs. For that, you need to double click on the Printer. Then you have to go to the ‘Printer Menu’. In that you need to select the option ‘Cancel All Documents’. Sometimes, stuck printing jobs may force the printer to go offline. You need to try once again, in order to set the printer back online and then try printing a test page.
