hp dv200 continous beep problem, any help?

heyy guys

after using my laptop for a few hours yesterday and turning it off, i wake up today and turn it on but i was surprised by the continuous - very loud- beep sound. The laptop turns on and windows is loaded but the beep sound is still there :cry

can anyone please guide me what to do?
when I heard the beep sound i unplugged the laptop from the AC adaptor, i tried switching on the laptop again, but the problem still exists

Can you tell if this is a Windows sound, or if it's coming from the motherboard? Also, what operating system and service pack # are you running?

 

I'm assuming you meant dv2000 - I can find no reference for a 'dv200'...

If this alarm is coming from your motherboard, and if your machine has an Award BIOS, a continuous beeping without pause indicates a serious system related problem such as CPU overheating...

I'd suggest hooking up an external monitor, if available, to rule out any display problems...I'd also check all fans, vents, etc...

well, i found out the problem, it is a bit embarrising rolleyes
before turning off my laptop i was adjusting my microphone, and changed the microphone boost to 30 dB, i suppose this was the problem and the sound i heared was not a beep sound, it was the echo sound due to a high microphone boost

 

Ah! Glad it turned out to be something simple - normally, those 'beeps' mean trouble's ahead...
