I have a problem with the battery of my HP dv6. The computer will sometimes say that the battery level is much lower than it should. For example, usually, when I operate on battery power, I can run for about 2 hours before I get down to about 15% (as long as I am not using resource heavy programs.) I know that the battery isn't actually draining that fast, because it will go down to 0% and then instantly jump back up to 100%. Also, I'm pretty sure it isn't a software issue because I recently reformatted my hard drive, and it was doing the same thing in the same manner before and after reformatting. Also, it does not seem to be correlated with any resource heavy programs either.

    Try a battery recalibration.
