hp e-pc admin password

I have an HP e-pc that I do not know the administrator password for.

How can I reset the password or change it?

This is not the bios password.

Probably not a good idea to give that type of info out since no one here has any idea who you are and if you should have Admin privelages.

However if this is a simple mistake you should backup your data and perform a 'wipe and load'. i.e. format with a new install.

Yes and no.... I found four of these things in the trash. Two of them came up right away, one is sick and this one comes up but I need to log in. It comes up as administrator and needs a password.

I have W2Kpro discs to give it a clean load, but I can't get them to run either.

I would hate to toss this PC in the trash because of not being able to log into it.

Any help or direction you could give would be appriciated.

If that is the case:

A) There may be a reason they were in the trash

B) You should start with fresh installs anyway, who knows who used these systems and for what purpose.

So, check your BIOS settings to make sure you can boot from a CD-ROM, try booting from your Windows 2000 CD and start fresh.
