My friend spilled a drink on the keyboardb of her HP Pavilion dv9700 and its not responding at all. If you hold the power button down the button stays lit but that's it. I told her the motherboard is out and she wants to know if she must replace the 461069-001 that is printed on a sticker under the memory with a 461068-001 that a friend of her's has.

Lets get it straight first, she spilled a drink on the keyboard, and that ruined the motherboard? I dont think so, I know so. Just borrow another keyboard or buy one of the cheapys for ten bucks and be done. ed

No, i think there is more to this one, if the power button is lit does anything come on the screen?

Also, do USB devices recieve power?

Machine in question appears to be a laptop type.

No, nothing on the screen. And no power to the usb.

Does anyone know if the HP motherboards 461069-001 and 461068-001 are interchangable?
