Hp nx9600 cpu upgrade?

    I have a hp/compaq nx9600 laptop with a pentium 4 3.34ghz (ht) processor. I was wondering if the processor could be changed out with another socket 775 processor running at the same bus speed (533). I have a Pentium D 2.66ghz socket 775 dual core chip that would fit the socket. Would it work?
