Right now I'm between paychecks so flat broke but need to print some class lecture slides. My HP OfficeJet V40 is out of black ink, but there is still plenty of blue ink. It is impossible to change the on-screen color of the text I need to print. Is there a way -- like some setting that can be changed -- to have BLUE replace BLACK so that I can print these out in blue ink until I can replace the black cartridge? Thanks.

depending on the printer: you might be able to move your blue ink cartridge to black ink's slot.

    Hi EquineLvr,

My HP Deskjet 3845 will print black by mixing the three colors in the color cartidge if you remove the black cartridge. Your's may not do it but it's worth a try. If it's going to work it will tell you in a popup when you ask it to print. Maybe?

    Good Luck, Jim
