Possibly stupid question here, but I'm new to the world of external hard drives.

I have an old (circa 2001 or 2002) HP Pavilion 750n. I'd like to get an external HD enclosure for making my cloned HD external. It's a Maxtor. Would the connection on my HD be SATA, or ... ? I'm not finding the specs on the HP website or anywhere else, so I'm trying it here. Need to know what type of enclosure to get.

    Thanks a million.

    Welcome to Majorgeeks :)

8 years old? It would be IDE, also known as ATA or, since the arrival of SATA, PATA (Parallel ATA to distinguish it from Serial ATA).

    IDE UDMA modes ATA-100/66/33

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks ever so much for the help! I know precious little about hardware. Obviously. ;o)

Have a great day or night!
