    Friends monitor microphone is giving him feedback

    He uses windows XP. Monitor is a hp pavilion mx 75

    Even a starting point would be helpful.

    Moved speakers, checked around in sound options a little.

    Try going to sound and audio devices in control panel and adjust the properties of the mic.
