HP Pavilion ze4402 anyone hear of any problems?

helping a guy trouble shoot his HP Pavilion ze4402 laptop's cd rom drive
i take it apart and it appears as if the spindle in the CD rom drive is a little off center, enough to cause it to rub so i take the screws out and re center it and put it back together - no problem, as I remount the drive one of the screwes on the bottom of the cd rom drive pops out and falls down it was an inconsequential screw so i just wnated to see if the cd rom drive would cycle instead of shutting down - so i push it back in and try to power up (the computer just powered up 30 seconds earlier) there were no pops or snaps indicitive of a short, the battery was dead but we were running off of AC - any thoughts or anyone hear anything about HP Pavilion ze4402 ??
