HP Pavillion a210n with no video

With my HP Pavillion I have no video. There are no CMOS error beeps.The power supply powers up, but nothing from the main board. I tried another video card, other than the one built into the mb but nothing. There is a place for a jumper on the board next to where the floppy plugs in, that has no jumper. What is the port there for if it does not need a jumper? Help if you can, and thanks!

Hi Tony,

The drive select jumpers for floppys has always been "inside" the floppy on the PC board. Many years ago someone invented CS (Cable Select) for the floppy. Many different schemes have been used. Latest is the twist in the ribbon cable at the connector at the A: Drive. That was so us dummies didn't have to move the jumpers in the floppy. You should be able to Google info on your mother board to identify the jumper next to the floppy port.

If your pc worked before then it's nothing to do with the jumper.

As plodr said, try a different monitor or try your monitor on another PC to make sure IT is working.
Try another VGA/DVI cable from PC to monitor.

Is there ANY evidence of signal at all? is your monitor display jet black or lit black (greyish)?
