I have contacted HP about this problem and they have not been able to resolve it yet.

I just bought a new HP wireless printer replacing my old HP wireless printer which the wireless part worked fine, but the printing died.

New printer HP Photosmart e-All-in-One Printer - D110a. I have installed and re-installed the software and drivers but can't get my printer to stay connected to my laptop. I have a Linksys "WRT54GL router but have the printer set with a static IP address. When I run tests on the computer and printer everything says it is fine. But every 30 seconds or so.. my printer goes offline on my computer and is especially noticeable when I am using the HP Solution center because it will keep blinking in the windows bar. I have talked to 4 technicians but no one can figure out what the problem is. They keep saying that it is on my end, but the old printer which was also an HP (Wireless 6150) never had any problems and I have not changed anything in my routing. Is anyone else having this kind of problem and has found a successful solution? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My computer is running Windows XP SP3
Currently my router has WEP encryption, but I tried them all just to see if that had anything to do with it. (WEP works best for me since I have some devices which can only use WEP to communicate).

    Thanks.

I can't believe that no one can figure this out!!! What is the point of posting here with all of these tech and computer geeks if no one can or will answer my question. At least try!!

    Hello,

    Try the following
    • On your router, try enabling SSID broadcast if it has been disabled.
    • You might have some interference problems. Try changing the channel on the router to something else.
    • If you are not using the Linksys Secure Easy Setup, disable that in the router also.

You said you created a static IP. Make sure the IP is outside the DHCP range of the router. Also make sure the IP address in your printer properties under ports matches the IP address in your printer.

There is also the possibilty that you have a bad wireless on the printer. If you still have the problem, I would get HP to replace it if under warranty.

Did they connect remotely to your computer and try to fix the setup?

I was in the same situation: I'm free tech support for some senior citizens. One of them had an HP wireless printer which would not connect. HP took over the laptop with me watching what he was doing. The tech could not get it working. She returned the printer to the store, got a different model and we set it up without HP's support with no problem. So have you considered that something might be broken?

I might also mention that in the above situation, my senior was running a linksys WRT54G router (yup the linux version but was not designated GL because at the time Linksys used linux on all the routers).
