HP Presario Code 10 Error

Hello everyone...new guy here. I need some help..

I have a Compaq Presario SR1920NX Pc...everything was fine with it until i got a virus...So I Bought New Hard Drive and a New copy of Windows XP SP1.

1st problem....the install got stuck on the "Windows is Starting up"....so i googled the problem and came across a site saying to press F5 in the beginning instead of F6....

So i did that and the install went great....then when the PC loaded i notice my usb ports or my card reader wouldn't work. So i got all the updates from Windows and from Nvidia.... NOthing.....

Then i went and bought a PCI to USB card and it says the device did not start either.

What can i do???? Please help...I've tried to uninstall and USB problem from Device Manager...noting

I have had the same problem and after researching a while I found out it was a registry problem. By what error code 10 website, this error is caused by faulty registry entries and registry errors. By what I've seen it is a very common problem.
