    Hi,

I was given this laptop to have a look at, the laptop its-self turns on however no display is ever shown, even through an external monitor. I read up on it and i was told in this model the nvidia graphics card comes away from the motherboard and that is why im having these problems.

What i wanted to know is there are many ideas on the internet on what to do some which i believe are crazily stupid, does anyone have an idea of what i can do here?

    Cheers In Advance

A friend of mine had one and the Suggested solution from Dell was to run the fan at full speed indefintely , this fixed the problem temporarely but in the end the Laptop failed totally.

Pretty much so. If the video chip dies, you have no display.
Salvage the hard drive and RAM.
