Yesterday I installed an HP 2400 printer/scanner/fax/copier. Fast printing, decent scanning, easy faxing and copying. But--

As a direct result of the install, Device Manager now shows 3 new "disk drives," none of which exists on my P3 600, Windows 98 machine. In addition to my hard drive, my floppy, and a 100 MB zip drive I now show a drive called DOT4 Mass Storage Class Bridge for IOS, another one called hp psc 2400 series (DOT4STORE), and one called hpz. The hpz even has a drive letter!

My Computer shows the hpz drive as a Removable Disk with the drive letter immediately following that of my Zip Drive. The other two "drives" are not shown in My Computer.

What are these things? How do I get rid of them? SHOULD I get rid of them? I couldn't find any info at the HP site so I'm turning to my fellow geeks.

    Thanks,

    NebulaGL

You do realize your printer has a card reader on it, right?

Those show up as drives in Windows.

Aha! Thank you both. Yes, I knew I had a card reader but had no idea it would make its presence felt in that matter.

    Another mystery solved. Whew.

    Thanks again,

    NebulaGL :)
