HP Printer software

what no spell check? OH Horrors! (I guess you can tell I'm new )

OK problem at hand. I have an OLD HP 4pro printer (Yes it still works). Earlier this year I changed computers and put Windows 7 Pro on it. When I went to put the printer drivers/program onto it it said it was not compatable. I went to HP web site and looked for a download up grade and was informed the printer was too old and they were not going to upgrade that model.

To make a long story short, I need a free program/utility that will put multiple pictures on the same page so I can print them. The HP utility that came with it did a nice job and I was able to print different sizes of pictures depending on what I wanted to do.

I found one on another site that was similar that was suppose to work on 7 but after I down loaded it it malfunctioned somehow and screwed up my new computer. It seems to be the only one I can find.

I don't want to have to buy something I will not use whenever this printer bites the dust. So I just need a freeware simple program that will work for now. Can anyone help?

I hope someone can help you find a new program that will let you put 4 pictures on a page.

On the HP software, which version of Windows did the program work in? I'm talking the software program not the drivers.

You might right-click the program installation exe file and select Troubleshoot Compatibility. I just checked and you at first go ahead and try Win7's automatic suggestion then if the program doesn't work say Try again using different settings. Then tick the box for the program worked in earlier Windows. You get a list of previous versions of Windows. Highlight the appropriate one and see if it can adjust for it.

I forgot to mention the list of previous versions goes back to win95.

 

I'm kinda dense when it comes to computers. lol If it's not plug and play I almost always stop because I/m not sure how to manually set up a program.

I moved up from XP pro.

 

7 comes with Photo Gallery. What is the difference between it and Live photo Gallery?

 

If it ran on XP it should run on Win7.

You mean the CD automatically installs the program and drivers. If you open Computer/Explorer and take a look at the CD drive can see a list of files on the CD. Is one name for the program that you liked?

Well, I downloaded live photo gallery. WOW did they load up my computer with a bunch of junk and other stuff as well! I wound up removing about three quarters of the stuff. I hate it when companies do that. You ask for one thing and they try to take over your computer with a bunch of unwanted or not desired stuff and ask you to make that stuff your default program. then every time you open what you wanted it diverts you back to the request to make something you don't want your default. NO THANK YOU!

Anyway, I think the live photo gallery will do what I want it to do for now till my printer craps out and I get another one. Thanks everyone for your help.
