I am having a problem with my scanner. I can scan from the computer, but not directly from the printer. It is a hp psc2410 Photosmart all-in-one.

I find the file on the computer when doing a search, but when I try to run it, it tells me there already is a version on computer and I would have to uninstall that one first.
    Says file is at C:\hp.drivers/hpiz402/setup/scan

    I am looking for 'Scan.msi'
I have no idea what I need to uninstall. I don't want to lose anything else I need. Any help?

When I try installing it from disk tells me a newer version is already on my computer. And closes out.

Hope I haven't confused anyone as much as I am:)

Any help on how I locate that file and get it to run would be appreciated.

    Gal

Thanks halo. I had found those, but was hoping there was an easier fix.
My 28.8 connection will take me days

AH bumm..... do you have driver CD that was supplied with printer? if so re-install those again.

Yes, I do, but when I try to use that, it tells me newer software is already on my computer and closes out.
Think it just can't find the one file it needs.

Did a manual search for it, but tells me I need to uninstall another version before I can use that, and I don't know what to uninstall.

Might it be a good idea to uninstall what I have for the printer, then reinstall thru the disk and get updates?

seems pretty viable option to me gal, especially as your on DUN.

may also be a good thing to run a registy cleaner too just to make sure no left overs from HP PSC are left?

CCleaner or Regcleaner will both do the job fine.

I uninstalled all software for printer and reinstalled it. It was working fine last night. This morning when I turned computer and printer back on, I am back to the same thing.
So, being I can scan from computer, just not directly from the printer, I will just do it this way.

Thanks for the help Halo. I'll have to do it the hard way instead of the easy way..:)

I have a different model to you but found that it has quirks in the software/drivers, in the end I did download the full package and installed it from my HD, where I have still left it as now and again it wants to install/re-install something... even tho I installed it fully!!! werid but works this way ok.

Glad you found workaround tho :)
