HP Scanner photosmart 6250

Novice scanner here, most scans come out looking good. I have a glossy photo, and there are lines in the outcome of the scan. Kinda like those moving lines on a tv when the signal is weak. Tried alot of settings. Questions are is this likely the scanner? Is there some adjustment I can make like putting some transparent thing over the pic?

Is this the exact name of the scanner? No missing numbers or letters?

The front of the printer says HP Photosmart C6250 All In One. The manual just refers to the 6200 series. Let me know if you would like me to turn the unit over and see if there are more letters on the serial tag. Thanks.

They did its likely a HP Photosmart 6250

Is it a smooth glossy photo or a matte one? as matte ones with the surface effect does sadly tend to bounce the light around from the scanner, giving a grainy TV out of signal effect.

Try cleaning the glass scanner surface, nothing abrassive, glass cleaner or better still spectacle lens cleaner, with soft cloth.

I have at times had good results with images that dont scan well by putting one of those clear document plastic protectors between the glass and image, also when scanning push a little on the lid to make the photo puch down flatter to surface.
