HP SimpleSave won't open

    Dell Inspiron Vista

    Will not allow me to open and install HP SimpleSave or allow me to retrieve/restore files saved on an XP computer.

    I downloaded the program, ran it, and it ended up telling me I had to download and open from the original device. I did but it won't open.

    Any suggestions.

    Hi

    As far as I know you just plug these devices in and it downloads and installs the device software from the device itself, so did you see device drivers being installed (a page where it shows the driver install happening HERE)?

    If they did install ok, then look in Computer for the SimpleSave device. If you try to open it and get any error messages then tell us what they are?

    EDIT: In Device Manager do you have any yellow ! marks by any devices and if so what, as some of your myriad of issues could be that core drivers are not installed?

    Many thanks for your help.

    For some reason my Dell Vista wasn't set up right. It has now been corrected and they downloaded my HP backup at the same time.
