HP TV tuner

    I travel regularly to places that do not have TV's and most of the time no internet connection.

    So....

    I was wondering if any one had some experience with the HP internal TV tuner, how it worked for you and if you would recommend it, before i buy it.

    Sorry I don't. My laptop doesn't have a tuner either. You may want to try the HP forums if you haven't already. You can probably find people there who have used it.

    Well i called HP Tech support and and was told that it would cost $75. I've already paid for the laptop I'm just curious to know if anyone has used it or something like it.

    but since the US is going all digital on June 12, 2009 and you said some areas you go to do not have tv, I suspect you won't be able to pull in a digital signal.
    A better option might be to copy movies to USB sticks or sdhc cards and watch movies on your laptop when you travel.

    Thanks for the great post plodr,

    When i said places with no TV i should of also said that i am still in the Army so i always get stuck somewhere with 1 TV for almost 100 people in the day room. I'm sure you can understand my frustration.
