Hello, I have an older HP Z8000 series laptop and I pulled out the hdd to do a virus scan on a separate pc, well the problem is thta know when I put the hdd back in and hit the power button, the fans spin for 5 sec and shut off then the power button starts flashing and the pc beeps and restarts, and just does the same thing over and over again.

any idea what is happening and how to fix it? will reseting the Cmos possibly fix it?

what I don't get is wouldn't it still boot into bios or anything? all I get is a black screen and a scratching noise with beeps, the hdd isnt shot cause on that other pc it still reads fine and I can pull everything off.

it's somethig wrong witht he laptop but why would it start just from pulling off a hdd?
