Everytime I shut down my pc I get an error message saying that hptskmgr.exe is not responding and have to click "end now" before it will shut down or re-start. I did a search on Major Geeks but didn't find anything to help with my particular problem. Also had a problem with hpcmpmgr.exe but Googled it and found a fix right away. I understand that this is part of my HP all-in-one printer software but is probably not needed or maybe just needs to be removed from start-up so it's not always running. Not sure what to do with this. Can someone help?

This is not a topic for the Malware Forum since it is not malware. I'm moving this to the Software Forum.

You can use a program like Startup CPL to stop this process from loading at startup.

Thanks Chas. Wasn't sure exactly where to post this because some of the info I found on this said it was suspicious and possibly dangerous. Now I know...thanks again..........gracie
