We were able to pick up 4 Dell OptiPlex 755s. Two of them have windows 7 OS (the other two have no OS) All of these units have an ATI Radeon Graphics Card (P/N 7120035100g) which supports a S-video or HSM-59 connection. None of the monitors I have support either type of connection. My Monitors support the 9 pin VGA, or the DVI-I (dual Link). Which would be the better conversion, convert the HSM-59 to VGA, or the DVI? Or convert the S-video to the VGA/DVI? Thank you. Bill

A new graphics card. Those Dells support PCIe and PCI. For $30 you can get a much better/faster graphics solution than you currently have that will support a digital format (DVI, HDMI, or Display port - depending on card) with no need for any converters.

For those reading, it is not HSM-59 (no wonder I couldn't find it), it is DMS-59.

Good catch, plodr. With that in mind, I definitely would do what it takes to go digital (DVI).

Sorry about the confusion with the type of connector. I had just come off a 12 hour mid shift

So I was able to get one of the PCs to power up. Apparently none of the systems have an OS. The PC is a Dell OptiPlex 755, with an A10 bios. It has an intel core 2 duoCPU at 2.40 Ghz. Buss speed is 800 Mhz. It is 64 bit. Currently have 4x1 Gb PC 2 ram chips. Will this system support a good gaming video card, if it does, what would you suggest?

    Much depends on the PSU.

It is the Factory installed default, but I can verify that when I get home.

It is just important to note that a graphics card is often the most power hungry device in our computers - even more than the CPU. Many of the more powerful graphics cards even require one or two extra power connections directly from the PSU. So not only does the PSU need to have enough power (specifically +12V), but the PSU must have the necessary connections.
