Hsy folks, I have a request...

I know there is much disagreement about the election. Some of us are glad Bush won, some folks wish Kerry had won, and still othere wish someone else entirely had won. I know some folks think the election was stolen. Both elections.

But no amount of complaining will really change anything, and I was wondering if we could make an attempt at refraining from making comments about it, especially in threads that have nothing to do with politics. I personally have been real bummed when the subject has come out of nowhere in threads that were very enjoyable up to that point, and it's ruined the thread for me, and at times, ruined the general atmosphere in the Lounge for me.

This is just a request, coming from a member. I'm not a moderator or administrator, so take it for what it's worth. It's not aimed at any individual in particular, and it's not meant to imply judgement on anyone, but rather to help keep the peace, and keep the fun truly fun.

No, a request for rational civility. Political threads will always crop up from time to time, but we've been seeing whiny political comments in threads that were not in any way political. It's gotten very old.

 

No, self-censorship. The same reason we don't listen to 2 Live Crew with children present or read Hustler at a bus stop, it's out of respect for others, not a rule or law preventing it.

Eric, I was getting ready to start up my thread about why Bush totally sux, and how Kerry totally sux, and how everybody in the world just totally sux (okay, the sarcasm is choking me )...But I'll make an exception....JUST THIS ONCE, THOUGH!


Seriously people...Where are all the good threads that pop up this time of year? Those perpetual threads that seem to last all season? We need more of those.

The election is over. I did not support Bush. He won fair and square, and is now our president, and will recieve my support. Remember the days of the loyal opposition ?? We need a return to that.
